Description：Colonic epithelium（人結腸上皮細胞） cover the colonic mucosal surface and maintain the gut homeostasis by harboring the commensal bacteria in the outer mucus layer. Most colonic epithelial cells are absorptive colonocytes distributed in the crypt top, composed of specilised lineages including secretory goblet and enteroendocrine cells (EECs). They not only coordinate gut absorptive and secretory process, but also control mucosal immunity by presenting antigens to T cells. Dysregulation of the colonic homeostasis is often associated with intestinal inflammation, which underpins various intestinal disorders including bacterial infection, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and colonic cancer.；
